NEW ERA DEPARTMENT STORE: NETANTTILA TO BE OPENED ON THE INTERNET 14 NOVEMBER 1999

Anttila Oy, which is part of the Kesko Group, will introduce a new significant service on the Internet. The service will be called NetAnttila and it will be available at: www.netanttila.com

This on-line department store will be the most versatile and extensive in Finland, and comparable to international counterparts.

NetAnttila will offer around 12,000 product alternatives from Anttila’s selections, which have been arranged in seven shops: Megastore for entertainment products, Lasten maailma for toys and children’s products, Sports, Koti & Sisustaminen (Home & Interior decoration), Pukeutuminen (Clothing), Kauneus ja terveys (Health and beauty) and Joulutori for Christmas decoration items.

The products can be easily ordered by clicking them into a basket. Basic price level is the same as in other Anttila department stores; music products may even be ordered at lower prices. Payment is made by normal on-line methods or by cash on delivery.

In addition to buying products via the NetAnttila service, the customer may also register and make use of a further selection of services. These include gift and memorandum services. Through the memorandum service customers may receive e-mail reminders of important dates which they have entered into the service.

Registration will also facilitate purchasing the next time, because customer information has been saved in the NetAnttila memory. Purchases may also be made without registration.
On-line purchases give Plussa points in normal manner.

The mail order logistics of Anttila are responsible for distribution. The implementation of this new service has been carried out in cooperation with IBM and Icon Medialab. On Father’s Day, Anttila will also open its new home pages at www.anttila.fi. providing an information package about the company Anttila Oy.

NetAnttila is part of the Kesko Group’s on-line strategy. We have already opened Kesko’s portal service at www.k-netti.com. The contents and visual appearance of www.k-netti.com will be revised on Father’s Day. The service facility provides useful information for everday purposes, for instance, cooking, interior decoration, home improvement, leisure activities and current issues. A further array of commercial services is being prepared for the portal.
