  The sales of Kesko Group’s continuing operations in February 2020 totalled €823.5 million, representing an increase of 10.5%. The comparable sales for continuing operations increased by 8.4%.

BANANASAJÄÄMÄ vegan ice cream made from recycled bananas is the joint innovation of Suomen Jäätelö and K-food stores and will soon be available at K-food stores. Bananasajäämä banana ice cream is the result of innovative cooperation last autumn that came about because the Tikkala retailer brothers of K-Supermarket Redi felt bad about some bananas that had been rejected because they had gone brown.

Kesko has published sustainability reports for 20 years – sustainability has become mainstream

Each year, many companies publish extensive, transparent and assured information on sustainability as part of their annual reports. Kesko published its 20th sustainability report on 6 March 2020 as part of its 2019 Annual Report.

According to K Group’s new cotton policy, by the end of 2024, all cotton sourced for mywear clothes, myhome home textiles and Pirkka socks sold in K Group stores and K-Rauta’s PROF workwear and Cello interior textiles will be more sustainably produced.

Putting companies’ waste plastic to practical use: K Group, Lassila & Tikanoja and Orthex come up with innovative way to turn cut flower buckets into flower pots

K Group, Lassila & Tikanoja and Orthex join forces in a circular economy experiment to give waste buckets a new life as flower pots. With this experiment the companies wish to encourage Finnish operators to objectively identify their waste material flows and to come up with new ways of using the materials.
