The Ukraine bow is used to gather funds for supporting Ukrainian refugees in Finland

The K Group and the Mannerheim League for Child Welfare are working in cooperation to gather funds to support the Ukrainians in Finland. The funds from the Ukraine bows, which will be available for sale at the K grocery shops on 5 December, will be used for national support work that enables the Mannerheim League for Child Welfare to offer the Ukrainians food, security, and a community to call their own.

K Group and Wolt expand their cooperation for an efficient network for fast grocery deliveries across Finland

In a short time, K Group and the quick commerce pioneer Wolt have been able to establish an effective concept for fast grocery deliveries in Finland. 127 K-Market stores at 40 locations around Finland now offer fast deliveries in collaboration with Wolt, covering a range of as many as 5,000 grocery store products. There is great demand for fast grocery deliveries across the country, and by the end of this year, some 160 K-Market stores will be offering the service.

A hit for over 15 years – the Pirkka Fairtrade rose is the best-selling flower in K-stores

K-food stores have been promoting Fairtrade for over 20 years. The Finns took a liking to the Pirkka Fairtrade rose bouquets immediately when they appeared in K-food stores in 2006. The Fairtrade symbol on the flowers is proof that the well-being of both people and the environment has been contributed to in the producer countries.

Millions of cups of coffee grounds from Neste K service stations as raw material for a circular economy project

Kesko and Berner started a pilot for a pioneering circular economy cooperation scheme in January 2022 where coffee grounds from Neste K service stations are used to make Pirkka home gardening products. Now, the first test batch of earth for growing has been processed from coffee grounds, and the practice will be expanded for use at all Neste K service stations.

Dawn of a new era: the first online grocery orders collected by in-store robots delivered to customers in Helsinki

Finland’s first automation-assisted in-store collection centre for online grocery orders is now up and running, and the K-Citymarket Ruoholahti hypermarket in Helsinki has delivered the first online grocery orders robots have helped to collect. This represents a new era in Finnish online grocery. Automation increases collection efficiency, which means, among other things, lower delivery prices for customers. However, customers can still choose from the store’s extensive selection of as many as 40,000 products.
