The nutritional content of many everyday staples has been reformulated, which means the sugar, salt and saturated fat intake of K-food store customers’ will be reduced almost without them even noticing.

Kesko is accelerating the electrification of its transports in grocery trade. The number of electric trucks and vans is set to rise to 70 by the end of 2026. It is estimated that by year 2030, electric vehicles will make up some 30% of the transport fleet in Kesko’s grocery trade.

During the spring of 2025, Kesko and Koskisen Corporation have successfully pilot tested the recycling of wooden packaging for a raw material for chipboard. So far, Finland has not had an industrial-scale recycling solution for wood waste. Instead, most it has been incinerated.
