Kesko ranks as the most sustainable company in Europe in the ‘Grocery Stores’ peer group on the first-ever ‘Europe 50 Most Sustainable Companies’ ranking. Finland is well-represented on the list, with Kone, Neste, Nokia and Outokumpu also included.

K Group: new measures to reduce the use of plastic and increase recycling

Finland is lagging behind in its achievement of the EU’s targets to reduce the use of plastic carrier bags and for recycling plastic. New measures are needed and both businesses and customers must be involved. Customers are being encouraged to reduce their consumption of plastic with the pricing of plastic carrier bags: the price of plastic carrier bags will increase in K-food stores from 13 May. K Group aims to increase the recycling of plastic by encouraging its partners to join its Plastic Challenge.
