Kesko's sales in September at the previous year's level

The Kesko Group's sales in September 2012, excluding VAT, totalled 808.3 million, showing a decrease of 0.2%.
In Kesko's food trade, sales in September were 346.4 million, a decrease of 1.3%. The number of delivery days in September was two less than in the previous year.
In the home and speciality goods trade, sales in September were 139.0 million, an increase of 4.7%. Sales growth was achieved by K-citymarket's home and speciality goods, Anttila and Intersport.
In the building and home improvement trade, sales in September were 253.6 million, an increase of 0.6%. Sales in Finland were down 2.4%. Sales abroad increased by 2.9% in terms of euros. In Russia, sales increased by 18.7% in terms of euros.
In the car and machinery trade, sales in September were 85.3 million, a decrease of 6.8%. VV-Auto's sales in September were 60.6 million, down 10.5% due to a decline of the passenger car and van market after the car tax change. Konekesko's sales in September were 24.8 million, an increase of 3.9% from the previous year.

In September 2012, the number of selling days in Kesko's wholesale in Finland was 20, which was two less than in the previous year. The total number of selling days in January-September was one less than in the previous year. The number of retail selling days in September was 30, which was the same as in the previous year. The total number of retail selling days in January-September was one more than in the previous year.
