A DECISION ABOUT REFUND OF VALUE-ADDED TAX TO K-PLUS OY

A total of FIM 98.9 million (about EUR 16.6 million), which is the amount of the value-added tax paid in excess, including interest, is refunded to K-Plus Oy, a Kesko Group company. The amount of the refund including interest exceeds by FIM 45.9 million (EUR 7.7 million) the residual taxes earlier imposed by the Tax Office for Major Corporations on Kesko Group companies relating to the value-added tax on the discount granted to consumers in the Plussa customer loyalty system.

The decision is according to expectations. Information about the residual taxes earlier imposed on Kesko Group in this matter has been given in the release published on 5 November 2001.
