RESPONSIBILITIES OF KESKO’S CORPORATE BOARD MEMBERS REDEFINED FROM 1 APRIL 1998

Kesko’s Supervisory Board has appointed Kalervo Haapaniemi, M.Sc.(Econ.), 50, as a member of the Corporate Board from 1 April 1998. He will be responsible for the foodstuffs trade. At the same time, a new unit called Resource Management will be established to operate within the Corporate Board. It will comprise the management of information administration and logistics at the corporate level. Executive Vice President Jouko Tuunainen, M.Sc.(Econ.), 53, will be responsible for the resource management operations in the Board.

Vice President Heikki Valkjärvi, LL.B, 45, responsible for the Resource Division to be established, will report to Executive Vice President Jouko Tuunainen. The Resource Division will consist of the management units of information administration and logistics, Hämeenkylän Kauppa Oy, Kesko Real Estate and Kestra Kiinteistöpalvelut Oy, Tietokesko Oy, K-linkki Oy and Risk Management.

Harri Sivula, M.Sc.(Econ.), 35, has been appointed as Vice President responsible for Kesko’s Foodstuffs Division from 1 April 1998. For the time being, he will also be responsible for the operations of the Neighbourhood Chain Unit.

Vice President Riitta Laitasalo, M.Sc.(Econ.) will also be responsible, for the time being, for the Administration Division from 1 April 1998.
