Recycling old jackets - Intersport's, the Finnish Red Cross' and Halti's campaign to aid areas of crisis

Intersport organises, jointly with the Finnish Red Cross and Halti, a jacket recycling campaign dubbed 'Let's Keep Good Things Going' between 11 September and 4 October. People can bring their old outdoor jackets to any Intersport store in Finland. The Finnish Red Cross will deliver the jackets to areas of crisis.

The campaign aims to collect 5,000 jackets and recycle them to countries in need. The Finnish Red Cross packs the jackets at their warehouse in Tampere and sends them to areas of crisis that most need help.

You can bring an old outdoor jacket to any Intersport store in Finland. If you put your contact details in the jacket pocket, the Finnish Red Cross will let you know where the jacket was delivered.

Anyone who brings in a jacket gets an 80-euro discount on a Halti outdoor jacket made of recycled materials, if he or she wants to buy one. The Halti DrymaxX Recycled shell jackets are made of used PET bottles, used clothes and industrial fibre waste.

- This campaign is a good way of implementing our responsibility programme in practice. It's also the first of its kind in our product line, says Intersport Finland Ltd's President Juha Nurminen.
