Rautakesko today opens a new K-rauta store in Estonia. The store is located in Valga, the capital of Valga County (Valgamaa), on the Estonian-Latvian border. The store has an area of 4,500 m² and a selection of nearly 20,000 products.
According to Rautakesko AS’ Commercial Director Toomas Tauk, the new K-rauta is the county’s biggest building and home improvement department store in terms of product selection and sales area. The store employs 23 people.
”As Valga is a border town between Estonia and Latvia, we’ll target our marketing efforts to both countries. With regard to the availability of labour, the store opens at an ideal time. We had more than 20 applicants for every job. We were able to recruit the best customer service professionals, some of whom are also fluent in Latvian,” says Toomas Tauk.
The town of Valga in Estonia has a population of 14,400 and the population of Valka on the Latvian side of the border is 6,600. The K-rauta store is inaugurated by Vice-Mayor Enno Kase, who says that the town is happy about the new store.
”The K-rauta store makes the town more attractive, and it’s also one of the biggest employers of late in the region. We also believe that the town’s increasing offer of building and home improvement products will inspire people to renovate their homes,” says Enno Kase.
