Kesko's real estate maintenance services to be provided by YIT, ISS and Ovenia
Kesko has signed agreements with YIT Kiinteistötekniikka Oy, ISS Palvelut Oy and Ovenia Oy for the real estate maintenance services of some 750 store sites, offices and logistics facilities in various parts of Finland. The agreements will take effect from the beginning of 2009 and will remain in force until further notice.
ISS will be responsible for the store sites, offices and logistics facilities located in the Greater Helsinki area. Ovenia's responsibility area will cover the store sites in the Uusimaa, Southeastern Finland and Pirkanmaa provinces, while YIT will take care of the store sites in the rest of Finland. The services will include property maintenance, in other words, technical service, property management, energy management and the management of real estate services.
"These agreements will enable us to offer our customers well-managed store sites where shopping is pleasant, easy and safe. In the future, our real estate maintenance will also heavily emphasize responsible and energy efficient operations in accordance with the K-Group's general principles and objectives," says Kesko's Real Estate Manager Ari Mäkinen.
"The maintenance of stores sites requires both technical expertise and special competence in the concept of trade on which the nation-wide operators we have chosen will be able to focus their resources in a cost-efficient manner. We expect the parties to engage in an open and development-oriented cooperation that could even be used in the development of the whole maintenance sector," says Ari Mäkinen.
