Anttila Oy is focusing strongly on web business. Anttila's online services have expanded to comprise Kodin Ykkönen, the largest department store for interior decoration and home goods in Finland.
The Kodin Ykkönen online department store (www.kodin1.com) offers a presentable selection of the 40,000 products sold by the offline department store. The web selection includes furniture, carpets, lamps, household appliances, and entertainment electronics.
Customers can view the products on the Internet, place an order there or visit any of the eight Kodin Ykkönen department stores.
"By launching an online department store, we expand our business to cover the whole of Finland. Online business and department stores also serve as complementary to each other," says Sales Director Juha Riipinen of Kodin Ykkönen.
Anttila's online department store - NetAnttila (www.netanttila.com) - has an established position as the best-known, most visited and most shopped online store in Finland*. The sales structure of NetAnttila is approaching that of an offline department store, and increasing amounts of clothing and interior decoration items are bought online. Sales of Anttila's website selling digital music downloads (www.netanttila.com/download) also continue to increase and have already exceeded those of traditional CDs.
