Pirkka Sensitive – the only liquid laundry detergent with the Swan ecolabel in Finland
The Pirkka Sensitive liquid laundry detergent was granted the Nordic ecolabel, also called the Swan Label. It is the only liquid laundry detergent for consumers, which has received this ecolabel. The product meets the new, stricter requirements of the Swan Label.
The Swan Label of the Pirkka Sensitive liquid laundry detergent ensures that the ingredients of the product are as safe as possible for the environment and health. This is important, as after use the detergent ends up in waters and residues may also be left in textiles.
"The Pirkka range is already known for excellent quality and low prices, but we are constantly looking for new responsible products to the range," says Salla Tuuri, Purchasing Manager for Kesko Food.
"Our target is to increase the number of Swan Label products in the market. Pirkka Sensitive is the first liquid laundry detergent with the Swan Label in the Finnish market. The product has also a label in cooperation with the Allergy and Asthma Federation, so it is fragrance-free, skin-friendly and environmentally friendly," she continues.
The requirements of the Swan Label limit the quantities of persistent ingredients in the water environment. They also regulate the use of sensitising ingredients, such as fragrances. The use of other sensitising ingredients than fragrances is totally prohibited. Besides safety for the environment and users, the Swan Label is also an indication of the quality of the product. In order to receive the label, the detergent must pass standardised washing tests.
