
Telko Group (Kauko-Telko) develops its chemicals business especially in the paper and pulp industry by acquiring the Finnish OptiKem Ltd.
The acquired company offers chemicals and related consulting. The OptiKem personnel includes three senior partners who will continue in Telko Group under their previous employment terms.
OptiKem’s business idea is to improve its customers efficiency, profitability and competitiveness by offering optimal and advanced chemicals solutions. The completed acquisition provides many synergy benefits that will enable OptiKem to expand its business at an incrreasing rate in the future. The acquisition is part of Telko Group’s growth strategy for its international technical trade.
Kauko-Telko engages in international technical trade in the Nordic and Baltic countries, Poland, China and Russia. In 2006, Kauko-Telko’s net sales were €248 million and it employed some 500 people. Kauko-Telko is part of the Kesko Group.
Telko Group is Kauko-Telko’s marketing name.
