Rautia participates the Hämeenlinna Housing Fair with the Vieska house brand from 13 July to 12 August. The house was developed to serve as a functional and timeless long-life home meeting the changing needs over the years. It was designed individually and implemented as a package solution, which enabled more cost-efficient construction. The house was built for Leena and Esko Junttila of Hämeenlinna.
The Vieska house at the Fair is number 49, located at Kaskikaarre 26. The house has underfloor water heating supplied by a district heating system. A heat-storing fireplace, built on site, is an additional heat source. The yard area is complemented by an ancillary building which consists of a garage and a work room. The living area of the house is 141 sqm, and that of the ancillary building 19 sqm. A 29 sqm glass terrace facing south provides ample extra space.
"Vieska’s interior was the first completed on the fair site," says area supervisor Tiina Rantala. Thanks for keeping up with the schedule go to the competent work site team hired by the constructors, and the fact that any special features that would make construction more difficult were avoided from the very beginning of design development. The house is also easily accessible for disabled people via a ramp to be built in the backyard.
This is the third house Leena and Esko Junttila have had built for themselves, and they have also assisted their daughter in house building.
"Our choice was decided by the beautiful plot, bordering a forest. We value easy living, one-level space, roominess and harmonious lines in the interior. High ceilings add to the spacious feel and one room was replaced with an open dining area. The ancillary room is meant to serve as an office and a guest room. The crown of the yard is a large glass terrace and the outdoor area is a dream for anyone with green fingers," say Leena and Esko Junttila.
"We consciously tried to limit the number of different materials in order to achieve a harmony throughout the house. The main idea in the kitchen is efficiency. There are plenty of drawers and all kitchen appliances are located ergonomically at the correct height," says Leena Junttila.
In addition to traditional planning and basic building, the couple has also received professional assistance in yard planning for their Vieska house.
