Executive appointments at Kesko

Pasi Mäkinen (47), M.Sc. (Econ.), has been appointed Managing Director of Indoor Group Ltd. Niina Ryynänen (39), M.Sc. (Econ.), has been appointed Kesko Food's Vice President responsible for Customer Relationship unit. Tuulikki Markkula (50), M.Sc. (Agr. & For.), has been appointed Managing Director of K-Plus Oy. All appointments will be effective as of 1 September 2007.

Pasi Mäkinen is currently Kesko Food's Vice President responsible for Customer Relationship unit. Lasse Lehtinen, the current Managing Director of Indoor Group, will be leaving Kesko.

Niina Ryynänen is the current Sales Director of Kesko Food's Commerce unit.

Tuulikki Markkula is currently Customer Relationship Director of K-Plus Oy.

Indoor Group's retail store chains are Asko and Sotka, which are furniture and interior decoration chains operating in Finland and the Baltic countries. Indoor's net sales totalled €182 million in 2006.

Kesko Food operates in the grocery market and is responsible for developing service concepts, efficiency and competitiveness. Key duties include chain management, development of chain concepts, sourcing and logistics services, chain marketing and acquisition of store sites. The K-food retailer implements the best services locally while taking care of the store's efficiency and profitability. The retail sales of K-food stores totalled €4.7 billion in 2006.

K-Plus Oy produces services that are based on customer information and support business operations for the K-Group's chains and stores and the Plussa network. There are currently as many as around 3.5 million K-Plussa cardholders in 1.8 million households in Finland. The K-Plussa card is accepted at nearly 3,000 outlets. This year the number of K-Plussa cardholders has increased by about 120,000. In addition to the K-Group stores, the diversified Plussa network includes Neste, Sonera, A-lehdet, Helsinki Energy, Scandic Hotels, Finnkino, and Europcar.
