Kesko Group's risk management reorganised

A new Corporate Risk Management unit replacing the present Corporate Security unit will be formed in the Kesko Group as from 1 September 2005. Juha Pietarinen has been appointed as Chief Risk Officer and will report to General Counsel Anne Leppälä-Nilsson.

In addition to the present security affairs, the Corporate Risk Management unit will guide, develop and supervise the overall risk management of the K-Alliance, including practical implementation.

A risk management steering group, chaired by President and CEO Matti Halmesmäki, will be established in the Group. The most important task of the steering group will be to promote the practical implementation of the K-Alliance risk management in all Kesko divisions as part of the Group management.
