Kesko has sold the business operations of its subsidiary Kauppiaiden Komedia and those of Kauppiaiden Komedia’s subsidiary Proidea to Metronome Film & Television Oy. According to Kesko’s Deputy Chief Executive Kalervo Haapaniemi, the production of advertising is not included in the key business areas on which Kesko wants to concentrate. The K-chains will continue their in-store TV media operations as Metronome Film & Television Oy’s customers.
Metronome Film & Television Oy is the new Finnish subsidiary of the Swedish company Metronome Film & Television AB. The parent company also operates in Denmark and Norway.
Kauppiaiden Komedia is the leading organiser of in-store TV media operations. This year, the combined net sales of Kauppiaiden Komedia and Proidea, which produces commercials, total around FIM 29 million. The personnel of 20 permanent employees will be transferred to Metronome Film & Television Oy as previous employees.
