Children brought colours to Roihuvuori with chalks donated by Kesko
The local happening of the Roihuvuori district in Helsinki had a colourful opening in the morning, when daycare and school-age children filled the pavements of the Roihuvuorentie street and let their creativity loose. Chalk drawings soon covered the nearly one-kilometre distance between the church and the library. The local happening was part of the Night of the Arts event organised throughout Helsinki.

The 'Hattivatit' group worked together to draw a 10-step long millipede.
Kesko donated 5,000 Color&Co. street chalks, sold in K-citymarkets, for children to make drawings. Kesko now participated in sponsoring the event for the second time. Kesko primarily sponsors projects that are associated with children and young people.
Flowers, butterflies and a millipede
A group of 5-6 year olds from the local kindergarten took over the front of the church first thing in the morning. In less than no time, the ground was covered with colourful butterflies, flowers, ladybirds, rainbows and suns. The joint project of the group was a millipede, shining in all colours.

Artturi and Luukas, both aged 6, drew the submarine they had seen in the Suomenlinna Sea Fortress.
Joy and pride of drawing
The group from the local kindergarten - the oldest one in the district - now participated in the event for the first time. Children were pleased with the new chalks, as they will also bring them many happy moments in the yard of the kindergarten. The children's faces shone with joy and pride, when they presented their drawings, full of enthusiasm.
"Please take a photo of my drawing!" begged many of them. Here are the contributions of some eager artists!
