In 2012-2023, Kesko received a rating of AAA (on a scale of AAA-CCC) in the MSCI ESG Ratings assessment.
Dow Jones Sustainability Indices
In 2023, Kesko was listed on the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices the DJSI World and the DJSI Europe as the best company in its industry in Europe.
Sustainability Yearbook
Kesko is included in S&P Global's Sustainability Yearbook 2024.
CDP
Kesko received the 'B' score in CDP’s Climate questionnaire 2023.
In additional to the Climate questionnaire, Kesko responds to CDP's Forest and Water Security questionnaires. The Forest questionnaire concentrates on the key commodities contributing to deforestation: timber, palm oil, soy and cattles products. The Water Security questionnaire concentrates on themes related to water consumption, pollution and plastics use.
Each year, CDP assesses how successful companies have been in committing their suppliers to taking climate action. Kesko has been a Supplier Engagement Leader in 2021-23.
FTSE4Good
The FTSE4Good Index Series is designed to help investors integrate environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors into their investment decisions. Kesko is included in the FTSE4Good indices (latest index review in June 2023).
The Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations
'The Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations' list has been published by Corporate Knights since 2005. Kesko is the only company in the world to have been on the list every year since it was launched. On the list announced in January 2024, Kesko ranked as the best company in its sector (Consumer Staples) and overall, ranked 29th.
STOXX Global ESG Leaders
Since 2011, Kesko is included in the STOXX Global ESG Leaders index family, which represents the leading global companies in terms of environmental, social and governance criteria. The index family consists of these three specialised categories and an overall index amalgamating their results.
Euronext Vigeo Eiris
Kesko is integrated into Euronext Vigeo index Eurozone 120 (the 120 most advanced companies in the Eurozone region).
OMX GES Sustainability Nordic
Kesko is listed in the OMX GES Sustainability Index calculated by NASDAQ OMX in cooperation with GES Investment Services. It is a benchmark index which comprises the leading NASDAQ OMX Copenhagen, Helsinki, Stockholm and Oslo Bors listed companies in terms of sustainability.
OMX GES Sustainability Finland
Kesko is listed in the OMX GES Sustainability Finland index calculated by NASDAQ OMX and GES Investment Services. It is a benchmark index which comprises the leading NASDAQ OMX Helsinki listed companies in terms of sustainability.
