K-instituutti
The K-Group has its own training centre, K-instituutti, which annually provides training for approximately 7,000 Kesko personnel, K-retailers and K-store employees. The core training modules in various fields include salesperson, supervisor, retailer and manager levels; as well as training for international duties. Entrepreneurship through the K-retailer trainee programme
The K-retailer trainee programme provides a good, safe path to becoming a K-retailer. By undertaking interviews and an aptitude evaluation, you may be accepted into the training programme, which takes 6-24 months. Completion of the programme guarantees professional development and equips you with versatile skills to start your career as an independent K-retailer entrepreneur. Master Sales Assistant training
The Master Sales Assistant training programme thoroughly covers information regarding the current retail market, product information and customer service skills.
The Master Sales Assistant training is organised annually for vocational skills development in 13 different study lines: foods, fresh foods, checkout, household goods, home and interior decoration, leisure, clothing, shoes, sports, Musta Pörssi (home technology), agriculture and building and home improvement. Swedish-language training 'Aktuell Utbildning' is also given every second year.
The top student of each line is named the Master Sales Assistant of the Year. Approximately 20,000 students undertake the training every year. In addition to the K-Grpup staff, students may also undertake this training. Further information can be found at www.k-instituutti.fi (in Finnish).
