The jury was impressed by Käyhkö’s view of security development as a service task and a builder of trust in an organisation, and noted that this clearly distinguishes his approach as a business enabler, both in his own role and in cooperation with his security team. Petri has also been a positive, constructive and active player in security networks and is currently Chairman of the ASIS Finland Association. Petri was appointed K Group's Head of Corporate Security in 2016 after having worked for the group for many years before that.
The selection criteria for the acknowledgement emphasise high performance in challenging management tasks and a comprehensive and strategic grasp on security. The winner must also demonstrate an active approach to security and strengthening of its strategic position in their own organisation and/or sector, and efforts to develop security expertise in Finland.
"Security is a joint effort and everyone's input is important. I value working together with others towards common goals, and view my work as problem solving, making progress through expertise. I appreciate this acknowledgement greatly,” says Petri Käyhkö.
