By selecting CFO of the Year, the organisers want to increase appreciation for financial administration and management, bring topical themes to the fore, and raise the performance level of people in the profession. The selection process had three stages: a five-year key figure analysis on some 50 companies, a qualitative survey and a 360 assessment on four CFOs chosen for the semi-final.
“I am obviously thrilled! It is a great honour to have our work at Kesko be acknowledged in this manner. I want to thank all my colleagues, because success is a team effort, and I look forward to continuing our work,” says Jukka Erlund.
The jury stated:
“Kesko’s financial administration is effectively organised, and Erlund is extremely business-oriented. His actions enable efficient and profitable business operations. Erlund has also played a key role in Kesko’s growth and transformation, from strategy work to acquisitions and divestments. Jukka also has drive and energy, and is widely respected among people at Kesko.”
The jury was chaired by Jorma Eloranta (Board Chairman), and the other jury members were Tapio Korpeinen (CFO, UPM-Kymmene), Jouni Grönroos (CFO, Fazer), Anne Brusila (Portfolio Manager, eQ Asset Management), Frank Korsström (Nordic Managing Director, Accenture) and Emilia Kullas (Editor-in-Chief, Talouselämä).
