1. When will the next K-trainee programme begin?
The next K-trainee programme will begin on 2 May 2017. Applications are open from 6 February to 5 March 2017.

3. Why does K-Group recruit new personnel via the trainee programme?
To expand our reserve team of experts, managers and leaders, we are offering the opportunity to work at the forefront of the rapidly developing trading sector to talented young people with a desire to develop. K-Group's trainee programme is part of the Finland's Mentors project, which is one way for us to take responsibility for employing recent graduates.
4. What types of employment relationship will trainees have?
Trainees will be recruited for permanent employment relationships. After the trainee programme, trainees will continue working primarily in the same division where they completed their training.
5. How long is the programme?
The 2017 trainee programme lasts 10 months.
6. Which language is used on the trainee programme?
The trainee programme will be oriented around the participants. If any of the participants on the programme do not speak Finnish as their mother tongue, the common sections of the programme will be conducted in English. Depending on the unit where the training takes place, the working language for trainees will be Finnish and/or English.
7. How long is the training period in the retail trade?
Trainees will work and learn about the entire trading value chain in K-Group's retail businesses for a total of approximately three months.
7. Who are you looking for to join the programme?
All of the applicants are expected to have the right attitude and the potential to develop, as well as an ability to take the initiative, roll up their sleeves and get involved. The trainee programme is intended for young people approaching the end of university-level studies (academic or vocational higher education). Applicants must be recent graduates or due to graduate soon, and must be young people applying for their first positions related to their studies. We hope to receive applications from people with different educational backgrounds. You may have completed studies in fields such as business, engineering or social sciences.
8. Are you looking for women or men to join the programme?
The programme has no quotas related to age or gender.
9. What is the pay for the duration of the trainee programme?
For the duration of the programme, trainees will be paid EUR 2,500 per month. Trainees will also have access to the tools they require for their work, such as a computer and phone. K-Group offers benefits to its personnel in all of the countries in which it operates. Trainees will have access to benefits such as occupational health care and staff discounts. 10. Have trainee programmes been arranged at K-Group before?
Trainee programmes have been arranged at K-Group on six previous occasions. In 2016, we arranged a K-digital trainee programme, which brought new experts to K-Group in a wide range of digital positions. The trainee programmes in previous years have focused on the retail trade, and they have expanded K-Group's team of professionals in general management positions and expert roles.
11. Is it possible to become a retailer entrepreneur via the programme?
It is not possible to directly apply to become a retailer entrepreneur via the K Trainee programme. We have a separate retailer training programme for this.
