Mitigating climate change
The earth’s atmosphere is warming. Factors contributing to this include fossil fuel use and deforestation. Warming can be slowed down by improving energy efficiency and by favouring clean energy generation and sustainable products.
We want to actively contribute to mitigating climate change, and we are helping our partners and customers to do this, too.
The K-Group’s total electricity and heat consumption in 2010 was 1,256 GWh. We have signed the trading sector energy efficiency agreement, and are committed to achieving savings of 65 GWh by the end of 2016. This is an ambitious target, corresponding to the annual energy consumption of 15 K-citymarket hypermarkets.
All the electricity we buy is carbon-free.
